Pastor Campbell attended High School in San Diego, CA; graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in History in 1970; graduated from Shiloh Bible College with a BA in Theology in 1978; received his MDiv.
from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA in 1999. He also spent a year at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (UDTS).
His road to ministry began after working almost
twenty years for a small photographic lab in the San Francisco Bay Area. But he says that the years of being a delivery person / customer service representative were also training for the ministry.
Officially, Pastor Campbell came under care of the Session of Pasadena Presbyterian Church, Pasadena, CA in 1997 and the Presbytery of San Gabriel in January 1998. While attending the
UDTS, he worked as a student pastor in the First Presbyterian Church of Maynard, IA. He was at that church for a year and a half. In 2000, with all
the necessary steps of the ordination process completed, he was given permission to send out his resume to the churches. In September of that year,
Pastor Campbell was called to the First Presbyterian Church in Pardeeville, where he was ordained December 2000.
Pastor Campbell and Betty, his wife, were married
in 1978. God has blessed their marriage, but in God's wisdom they did not have any children. Betty is also a graduate of Fuller Seminary, receiving a Master's degree in Biblical Studies and Theology.
One thing Betty says: "We do not have a television in our house, but we do have our Master's degrees."
